Центр орфанних захворювань та генної терапії вже 15 років працює в НДСЛ «Охматдит» і щотижня до них за консультацією звертається понад 100 пацієнтів. Пацієнти з орфанними (рідкісними) хворобами пацієнти потребують безперервного лікування протягом усього життя.
Проте через великий попит пацієнтам інколи доводилося довго чекати на консультації — кабінетів для прийому було недостатньо.
Саме тому Пацієнти України, за підтримки фонду Crown Agents, зробили ремонт у Центрі орфанних захворювань і генної терапії. Вчора відбулося урочисте відкриття нового відділення та ми щасливі, що тепер найменші пацієнти зможуть отримувати медичну допомогу в більш комфортній атмосфері.
«Ремонти дозволили змінити підхід до огляду пацієнтів. Тепер пацієнт заходить в кабінет не до лікаря, де він там же і працює, а навпаки пацієнт знаходиться у окремому кабінеті та до нього приходять лікарі. Також ми відокремили окрему ділянку для пацієнтів із муковісцидозом, а це особлива група пацієнтів, яка потребує окремого підходу. У нас для цього зроблено окремий відділ, де вхід знаходиться не лише з коридору, а і з вулиці», — коментує оновлений ремонт завідувачка Центру, Наталія Самоненко.
«Ми капаємося раз на тиждень в старому відділенні. Там було дуже мало місця, дуже багато пацієнтів і великі натовпи. Ми дуже задоволені, що в новому відділенні ми будемо комфортно себе відчувати та тут дітям буде чудово!» — поділилася з нами мама двох пацієнтів, Ольга Жиліна.

Patients of Ukraine and partners repaired the Center for Orphan Diseases and Gene Therapy.
The Center for Orphan Diseases and Gene Therapy has been operating for 15 years at the “Okhmatdyt” NSCH, and more than 100 patients turn to them weekly. Patients with orphan (rare) diseases require continuous treatment throughout their lives.
However, due to high demand, patients sometimes had to wait long for consultations — there were not enough places for reception.
That is why Patients of Ukraine, with the support of Crown Agents International, repaired the Center for Orphan Diseases and Gene Therapy. The new department opened yesterday, and we are happy that most minor patients can now receive medical care in a more comfortable atmosphere.
“Renovations made it possible to change the approach to examining patients. Now, the patient does not go to the doctor’s office, where he also works, but on the contrary, the patient is in a separate office, and doctors come to him. We also set aside a separate area for patients with cystic fibrosis, a special group that requires a separate approach. We have made a separate department for this, where the entrance is not only from the corridor but also from the street,” — comments the head of the Center, Nataliya Samonenko.
“We do procedures once a week in the old department. There was very little space for many patients and large crowds. We are very pleased that we will feel comfortable in the new department, and the children will have a great time here!”—Olga Zhilina, the mother of two patients, shared with us.
