Patients of Ukraine, with the support of the Crown Agents Foundation, renovated the Center for Hemostasis Pathology. This Center has been operating at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital since October 2015. During this period, the flow of patients undergoing consultations and examinations doubled to 2,000 people a year. That is why there was a need to expand and open a new modern branch.
“The updated design is very beautiful, thoughtful and modern: bright rooms with air conditioning, staff call buttons and bathrooms. There is everything necessary for a comfortable stay for children!” Taisiia Vasylieva, mother of a patient with hemophilia, shared her impressions with us.
Thanks to the support of our partners, we were able to completely replace the electrical system, install a fire system, make all the necessary internal repairs and purchase furniture. The Center also has two intensive care units, a large manipulation room, and a dining room.
Previously, patients with musculoskeletal disorders could not get to the department without hindrance, because there was a significant obstacle in their way — uncomfortable stairs. But we managed to solve this problem and install an elevator.

“For me, our renovation work at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital is of particular importance. I visited this hospital quite often in my childhood, and the memories of some of the departments are still vivid. When I learned that I would be coordinating this project, I wanted to do everything possible to make the patients’ stay more comfortable. Thanks to the trust of our partners, I managed to accomplish everything I had planned, and now the Center for Hemostasis Pathology will be able to provide better medical services to the youngest patients!” comments Alyona Lytvynchuk, project coordinator.

Another renovation is another step towards an inclusive and safe medical space. We thank you all for your trust and keep going!
