However, it also concerns the rules under which Ukraine\u2019s healthcare system operates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medical devices include prostheses, implants, diagnostic tests, consumables, and medical equipment used by millions of patients every day. Ukraine is currently taking steps to align its legislation in this area with European Union standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For patients, this is important for several reasons:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 higher safety and quality requirements for medical devices;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 more transparent market oversight and product control rules;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 closer alignment of Ukraine\u2019s healthcare system with European standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, any changes must be implemented in a way that ensures patients do not lose access to essential medical devices during the transition period. That is why, within the project, we will assess the potential impact of upcoming regulatory changes on:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 patients;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 the healthcare system;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 public procurement;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udd39 the medical devices market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Patients of Ukraine, this is a new area of work. However, our mission remains unchanged: to represent patients\u2019 interests in decisions that affect access to treatment today and in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This publication was produced with the financial support of the Ukraine2EU Programme.
