{"id":11308,"date":"2020-07-03T20:36:45","date_gmt":"2020-07-03T20:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/patients.org.ua\/?p=11308"},"modified":"2024-04-16T07:41:56","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T07:41:56","slug":"patients-of-ukraine-assisted-7-500-ukrainian-doctors-to-fight-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patients.org.ua\/en\/news\/patients-of-ukraine-assisted-7-500-ukrainian-doctors-to-fight-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"Patients of Ukraine Assisted 7 500 Ukrainian Doctors to Fight Pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/patients.org.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/pou-covid19-stats-07-07-2020-1100x550-1.webp\" alt=\"image\" \/><br \/>\nThe Charitable Foundation \u201cPatients of Ukraine\u201d together with partners, volunteers\u00a0 and non-indifferent people for three months raised <strong>UAH<\/strong> <strong>19\u00a0266\u00a0699 <\/strong>for protection of health professionals.<\/p>\n<p>CF \u201cPatients of Ukraine\u201d received charitable contributions from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>38\u00a0partners and donors<\/strong> who donated and\/or raised <strong>UAH<\/strong> <strong>18\u00a0445\u00a0586;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\u00a0256 non-indifferent people<\/strong> through the website for the amount of <strong>UAH<\/strong> <strong>821 112.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This money allowed providing protection for <strong>7\u00a0500\u00a0doctors, paramedics and nurses <\/strong>in\u00a0174 hospitals in all regions of Ukraine and this is the most important result for us.<\/p>\n<p>CF \u201cPatients of Ukraine\u201d created the coordination center to fight COVID-19 pandemic in the first week of disease incidence in Ukraine. The Foundation raises money to protect health workers, procures, distributes and delivers aids to health facilities. Also the Foundation consults partners, donors and NGOs intending to provide assistance.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Assistance to health workers for three months<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Mission of the Foundation is to protect health workers from coronavirus infection. The safe conditions will allow them to stay healthy and save patients with COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>We procure personal protection equipment (PPE) for health professionals. PPE creates the barrier saving from infection. We procure masks\/respirators, shields or goggles to protect respiratory tract from infection. Also we procure protective suits, boot covers, gloves and sanitizers.<\/p>\n<p>Together with our partners during three months we have purchased and\/or delivered <strong>363\u00a0628 <\/strong>different PPE items<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>89\u00a0900\u00a0masks;<\/li>\n<li>76\u00a0598\u00a0respirators;<\/li>\n<li>75\u00a0530\u00a0gloves;<\/li>\n<li>70\u00a0860 protective suits;<\/li>\n<li>20\u00a0325\u00a0isolation gowns;<\/li>\n<li>12\u00a0750\u00a0boot covers;<\/li>\n<li>8\u00a0005 shields\/goggles;<\/li>\n<li>7\u00a0000\u00a0caps;<\/li>\n<li>2\u00a0800\u00a0aprons;<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0860 bottles of sanitizer (various volumes).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also we procured and\/or delivered 3,000 diapers and 500 tubes of hand cream.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to PPE, we acquire medical equipment that allows doctors to save more lives of patients with COVID-19. For three months we acquired and delivered 138 items of medical equipment, in particular:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>95 monitors (45 are installed and 50 are in the process of installation) connected to lung ventilators. This allows doctors to monitor the patient&#8217;s condition in real time and immediately provide intensive care;<\/li>\n<li>42 oxygen concentrators, which allow doctors to save patients with COVID-19 and prevent severe complications;<\/li>\n<li>1 lung ventilator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Another 16 oxygen concentrators and more than 10,000 PPE items procured by us are on the way to the hospitals.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Our partners and donors<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We are sincerely grateful to our partners who have been tirelessly helping to fight the coronavirus during these three months. They manually collect the needs from hospitals, help to purchase, distribute and deliver PPE. Without these 200 people, this initiative and such significant results would have been impossible. Thank you for your humanity. You are our superheroes. Special thanks to the party <em>Golos<\/em> for their help in creating a wide network of volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Three months is a short period of time in which we managed to achieve great results and protect <strong>7,500<\/strong> doctors. We thank everyone who supports us, makes donations, sends the words of thanks and helps. We will not tire of repeating that together we are a large and powerful network of like-minded people able to withstand in the moments of crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Quarantine is easing, but the pandemic has not disappeared.
