The President of Ukraine has signed the laws #2150 and #2151 which regulate the transfer of the drug procurement to the international organizations, including World Health Organization, UN Children Fund (UNICEF). The international experience shows that the implementation of such procedure would save up to 40% on the medicines and would establish an uninterrupted supply to hospitals. “It will hit the pharmaceutical mafia, which has been riding a gravy train on the health of people, very hard”, – the President stated. From now on the volume and the list of medicines which will be procured by the international organizations should be determined by the Ministry of Health. It also determines the timing of the procurement and medicines supply to the hospitals.
