Mr. Yantsenyuk dismissed the Head of the State Administration of Ukraine on Medical Products (SAUMP). The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mr. Yatsenyuk, during the yesterday meeting with public representatives on the situation around medicines in Ukraine, asked the Head of the State Administration of Ukraine on Medical Products, Mr. Solovyov, to write resignation note together with his deputies.
«At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Solovyov had been talking about the outstanding achievements of the SAUMP. But he had forgotten to tell about the recent appeal of the Minister of Health related to his and his team immediate resignation, as well as the huge recent meeting of patients, pharmacists and businesses that demanded his and his deputies’ lustration — said Dmitry Sherembey, chairman of the Charitable fund „Patients of Ukraine“, — That is why the public had to remind directly at the meeting about all Mr. Solovyov „achievements“ which led to rash prices growth on medicines and disappearance of certain medicines from pharmacies. We were very impressed by the immediate reaction of the Prime Minister, because once during the meeting he demanded to Solovyov for his resignition. This will be a great relief for both patients and business».
It should be reminded, that business emphasized on the extraordinary corruption of the SAUMP. «SAUMP, only officially, collects 100 million dollars per year from pharma business. However, according to unofficial statistics, it takes bribes in amount of 2 billion UAH annually. All of these grey expenses affect common Ukrainians, but end up in Mr. Solovyov’s and his deputies’ (Inna Demchenko and others) pockets.» — states Denys Shevchenko, representative of PHARMUDKRAINE Association. «Due to the pressure of the corrupted state officials of the SAUMP, Ukrainian market starves for cheap and quality drugs. Because of their actions, our children and parents die, cancer patients are constrained to search for pills on the black market — in contrary they die. All of this makes Solovyov and his partners only richer in terms of billions, the share of which they had „brought“ to Yanukovych and Azarov,» — tells the representative of the field.
The main condition of public and pharmaceutical business to the Cabinet of Ministry of Ukraine after Mr. Solovyov and his deputies dismissal is the public election of chairman of the SAUMP with an open list of applicants and the opportunity of public influence on the chairman election.
