Charitable Foundation “Patients of Ukraine” has raised funds for repair work at the Virus Reference Laboratory of the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This will allow testing for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases more efficiently and high-quality. Also, it will create safe working conditions for laboratory staff. The infrastructure is being improved thanks to the funds allocated by SNEP UKRAINE LLC and the Ukrainian diaspora in the USA NOVA Ukraine.

Virus reference laboratory is a laboratory that diagnoses and studies viral infections. Since the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine, the laboratory has become the central institution for COVID-19 research in the country. It verifies the work of all regional laboratories testing for COVID-19.

CF “Patients of Ukraine” will provide the laboratory with conditions that meet the World Health Organization requirements for biological safety in the laboratory. In particular, thanks to the funds raised by the Patients of Ukraine, a partition and other necessary elements will be installed to separate the “contagious” work areas from other “clean zones”.

Improving the infrastructure will significantly improve the capabilities and operation of the laboratory. However, the laboratory still needs repairs and is looking for philanthropists.
