From now on medications for Ukrainians will be procured by international organizations

Today at the first reading the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the draft laws #2150 and #2151, on the transfer of drug procurement to international organizations. From now on medications for Ukrainian patients for the next 4 years will be procured by 6 international organizations: WHO, UNICEF, IDA Foundation (Netherlands), Crown Agents (UK), Partnership for supply chain management (PFSCM) (USA), Global Drug Facility (GDF) (Switzerland).

The final version of the National Health Reform Strategy for Ukraine has been published

Strategic Advisory Group on healthcare reform in Ukraine has presented the final version of the National Health Reform Strategy for Ukraine. The Strategy, which has been being developed during the past 6 months by the leading international and Ukrainian experts, is designed for the next 5 years, namely 2015-2020 and is aimed at fundamental change of the post-Soviet healthcare system into a modern, which will be able to provide quality healthcare to the Ukrainian patients. The initiators of the group and the development of the Strategy, which would be used as a basis by the Ukrainian authorities, were the Government of Ukraine, International Renaissance Foundation and “Patients of Ukraine” CF. The draft Strategy has been presented in the Ukrainian regions, where experts, doctors and public opinion leaders could offer their ideas and vision, some of which are reflected in the Strategy. The first step of the reform was the transfer of the drug procurement to the international organizations. The draft laws that regulate these issues have been developed by the Ministry of Health together with “Patients of Ukraine” CF, international organizations and Parliamentary Committee, and will be considered at the sessional hall this week.Download a[rel~="mtli_filesize127MB"]:after {content:" (1.27 MB)"}

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine may transfer drug procurement to international organizations already next week

Today the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Public Health considered the draft laws #2150 and #2151 on the transfer of drug procurement to international organizations and recommended the Parliament to adopt it as a basis and in entirety next week.

People’s deputies will submit a joint package of draft laws on the transfer of the public drug procurement to the international organizations

During 4-5 of March, during a working meeting in the building of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which was attended by MOH representatives, public activists and MPs Olha Bohomolets (Petro Poroshenko Bloc), Hanna Hopko (“Samopomich”), Oksana Korchynska (Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko), Iryna Sysoyeno ((“Samopomich”), Mariya Ionova (Petro Poroshenko Bloc), Hliv Zahoriy (Petro Poroshenko Bloc), Oleksandr Tretyakov (Petro Poroshenko Bloc), Kostyantyn Yarynich (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) it was agreed to submit a joint package of the draft laws on the transfer of  the public drug procurement to the international organizations.
